Nose SurgerySHORT NOSE (UPTURNED NOSE)

revision case with contracted nose

A short nose refers to a nose that is not proportional to other facial features due to the length of the nasal tip. It is often caused from birth trauma or side effects of previous surgery experience. This type of nose can cause too much exposure of nostrils, bringing an unbalanced nose appearance.

Short Nose Surgery can benefit

  1. 1. People with nostrils that are too visible
  2. 2. People with unproportionally short nose tip
  3. 3. People with upturned (over-rotated) nose due to previous surgery

How is Short Nose Surgery performed?

This procedure uses autologous septal cartilage and/or ear cartilage to rebuild a framework for the nasal tip. Using the cartilage, the tip can be pulled downward in a more proper location. If necessary, the nasal bridge can also be raised using an implant to give a better look. This short nose correction is one of the more difficult cases of rhinoplasty that requires an extensive experience and skills. When performed correctly, it can bring a dramatic change.
