Nose SurgeryHOOKED NOSE (HUMPECTOMY)

hooked nose/ nose bridge with hump

A hooked nose (aquiline nose) has a protruding bone and/or cartilage at the middle of the nasal bridge, causing a hump on the nose. This may create a very strong or masculine image. In this case, the protruding part is removed and the bridge is raised if necessary for a natural and straight looking nose bridge.

Humpectomy can Benefit

  1. 1. People with a protruding bone and/or cartilage on the bridge of the nose
  2. 2. People with a trauma-induced hump
  3. 3. People with an image that is too strong or masculine

How is the Humpectomy Performed?

In cases of a minor hump, it can be easily removed. However, in severe cases, both the cartilage and bone must be removed or shaved to create the desired look. Usually due to the hump, the tip of the nose may droop. In the case of a drooping tip, it is important to reshape the bridge and tip together to make a straighter and natural looking nose.
