Harvesting

a. Incisional
A transverse incision is made along the back of the head and a strip of donor hair/tissue is harvested. The donor site is sutured up. The incisional scar can be hidden by the back hair, so it is almost invisible. This method is recommended for high number of graft and it guarantees a higher survival rate for grafted hair.
b. Non-incisional
This method does not require an incision. The hair follicles are removed from the patient셲 occipital scalp (back of the head), using a specialized tool, one by one. Since there is no need for sutures the pain after the surgery is minimized and you can continue with normal daily activities with very little discomfort. This method is not recommended for mega sessions (above 3,000 follicles).

Implantation

a. JK셲 Patient-Specific Hair Implantation
There are two approaches to inserting a hair follicle. In Asia, the most common way is with the use of an implanter. However, there are some major disadvantages to this method. The depth of the implant cannot be controlled easily and bleeding is difficult to control. The second approach, more common in the US and in Europe, is by first making small incisions (slit) and implanting the follicles manually. This allows for easy control of bleeding and dense packing of the graft, eventually creating much better results. At JK, our specialized hair transplant clinic uses this method to give you the best results possible.
